THEME: Light

It came from the stars-- a meteorite that blazed through the night sky and crashed somewhere in the center of the forest. It has been centuries since the land has received a blessing from the gods of the outer worlds.

Many have taken this chance to seek the wealth and fortunes rumoured to litter the crash site, enveloped in glimmering lights. Meanwhile, others seek a treasure far more valuable: a fragment of the fallen star itself.

It is said that one who possesses a piece of the world beyond commands the power that dwarfs that of rulers and monarchs. All that it takes is a simple venture into the depths of the forest.

LIKE MOTHS is an incursion based off of the Trophy Dark ruleset, and was written over the course of 2 days for the Trophy Trifolds game jam.

This incursion includes the following:

  • 3 new Occupations (Diviner, Illusionist, Timekeeper), Backgrounds (Artful Mountebank, Haunted Seeker, Wanted Outlaw), Rituals (Ignite, Illuminate, Snuff), and Drives
  • 6 Conditions and 12 Moments
  • 5 Rings to journey through, and a story centered around the loss of light and the anomalies that come as a result of the first star to fall in centuries

This product was written in Google Docs, using the Trifold Templates by Speak the Sky.

(I may return to this project to refine it further later on!)

How many players does this game support (or recommended)? Can it be played solo? Game time?

Hi! Thanks for checking out my work!

This is an adventure that uses the Trophy RPG system, which requires a GM and at least one player. Sessions typically run 3-4 hours, but your mileage may vary based on how you or your GM want to run things.

From the Trophy Trifolds jam roundups:

A meteorite blasted a crater deep in the forest. At the centre lies celestial wealth and power beyond mundane imagining—for those who can find their way through the darkness.

3 things I liked:

  1. "Timekeeper (skilled in chronology, lore, planning)"
  2. "The canopy grows so dense that the barest hints of daylight that manage to peak through give off the illusion of stars in a black sky."
  3. "The angels shed pieces of their bodies."
